Thanks for your comments. I agree with Denise that when I turn off my critiquer is when I'm reading a book that grabs me so much I immerse myself in the book. What a treat to find a book like that. I probably read too much, but it's a habit I don't want to break. I love discovering an author whose work I love, and then looking for all her/his books. I like to read them in the order they were written, even if they're stand alone books. It's a way to watch the writer's strengths develop.

We have such a lot in commone with our reading habits, it's scary. I love books so much, my first real job was in a library. Just wish I had one tenth of Nora's talent.

Tony Hillerman will be missed by so many. He was truly a talented writer.

I've been inspired to write by too many authors to count. And if inspiration doesn't come from the latest book I've read, my writing muse gives me a nudge. :-)

I find that when my reading slows down, so does my writing!

And yes as a writer, sometimes it is hard to turn off the critiquer and when I don't notice it at all is when I REALLY love a book!
